accused jcmo vandals busted

Earlier this week, the Jefferson City Police Department issued a release regarding a number of property destruction cases that were occurring throughout the community.  In each of these cases, it appeared that vehicle windows were shot out with bb or airsoft guns, while nothing was taken from within.  The Department’s Community Action Team, in cooperation with JCPD Patrol officers, set up a special detail to attempt to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for these acts of vandalism.

On Thursday morning, September 11th at about 4:30 a.m., two suspects were arrested in connection with these crimes.  They were found to be in possession of several airsoft/bb pistols and both suspects were subsequently charged with Property Destruction in the First Degree.

Those arrested are William Knox, age 21 and Matthew Colbert, age 17, both of Jefferson City.
