jcps superintendent will leave district

Superintendent Brian Mitchell announced today that he will retire at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.  Dr. Mitchell has served the District
since 2009.

Mitchell has had a successful career in public education that has spanned nearly three decades.  During his career, he has worked as an elementary
and middle school teacher, an assistant principal and principal.  He served as Superintendent of the Fair Play R-2 School District, as well as Deputy
Superintendent of the Independence School District prior to joining JCPS.
