Columbia police search for rapist

A woman says she was raped in a downtown Columbia parking garage.

The 21-year-old victim says it happened early Saturday morning at the Tenth and Cherry garage. A man apparently forced her into her car and sexually assaulted her. She got away after a few minutes, and the suspect ran off.

Police say the victim described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5’10”, 170 lbs, short dark blonde or brown hair, thick eyebrows, wearing jeans, and a long sleeve button up shirt.
