tornado confirmed by troopers in osage county

The Highway Patrol confirms a funnel cloud was spotted on the ground near Rich Fountain in Osage County around 6-pm. Damage reports are sketchy but storms packing winds over 60 miles an hour and hail as big as half dollars came thru Central Missouri. The storms prompted numerous tornado warnings, including alerts for parts of Cole, Osage and Miller counties. The early morning storms forced a water rescue of a driver on flooded West Edgewood and left flooded intersections and ballparks across Jefferson City, even in areas that don’t usually flood.
This round of severe weather is moving out of the area to the east.
