No Show Brooks?

In a statement made today (July 8) by Aiken promotions, all five Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event shows, scheduled at Dublin Ireland’s Croke Park have been canceled. No concerts will take place. Dublin City Council refused to license two of Brooks’ shows at the venue. Brooks responded to the Council’s decision by saying he would play all five shows or play none.

There is a couple of ways to look at this. 1: To ship a Garth sized production overseas is no small feat and no small cost. It may be worth it for five shows but maybe not three. 2: To play those three shows would not be fair to those who bought tickets for the two cancelled shows. 3: Canceling five sold out shows will get Brooks publicity that even he couldn’t buy for his upcoming world tour.
