a boone county cold case heats up

We now know that a man that went missing in 2011 may have been murdered. Boone County Sheriff’s Detective Tom O’Sullivan says Jennifer Freeman and Patrick Curl have been arrested for helping to hide evidence after the murder of 34-year-old Charles Bell.

“We made contact with Freeman on Monday, and she made some statements indicating that she was present along with Curl when Mr. Bell was murdered in his residence,” says O’Sullivan.

He says Freeman also admitted that the pair helped to clean up the crime scene and dispose of Bell’s body. O’Sullivan says investigators are continuing to follow up on leads to track down the actual murderer in the case.

Charles Bell was last seen in September of 2011 riding his Ducati motorcycle. His family offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to his recovery, and over 100 people gathered to search area roads and highways looking for Bell.
