A Cole County man is in critical condition with burns after an incident Tuesday near Osage City. Out news partner ABC – 17 reports he’s accused of calling the sheriff’s office and threatening to set off the “biggest explosion Osage City has ever seen”.

Investigators traced the call to a camper In the Cole County town. When they arrived, officers believed they heard the hissing of propane from a tank. The man then set the tank on fire. He was badly burned but nobody else was injured. The man could face charges of attempting to assault law officers.
