Scott Baio responds to Nicole Eggert’s accusations of sexual misconduct

David Livingston/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Scott Baio is responding to accusations by his former Charles in Charge co-star, Nicole Eggert, who used a series of tweets over the weekend to accuse the actor of sexual misconduct with her when she was a minor.

“Ask @scottbaio what happened in his garage at his house when I was a minor. Creep,” Eggert tweeted Saturday.

Eggert reportedly followed up with a series of replies to others in which she described herself as a “molested child” and writing that she was “14,15,16 and 17” when multiple incidents happened. Those responses have been deleted but were captured by The Hollywood Reporter.

On Sunday, Baio took to Facebook to respond in both a Facebook Live stream and in writing.

“Nicole Eggert has been claiming I had sex with her before she was 18 at least since 2013. She is provably wrong, and because we have been telling her that since last year without results, our only conclusion is that she is deliberately lying,” Baio wrote.

He also provided links to messages between his lawyers and the Dr. Oz show in which Baio disputes Eggert’s claims by citing other alleged statement by Eggert that contradict the claim.  “The evidence it contains proves beyond doubt that she initiated our one and only sexual contact and that it was well after she turned 18,” Baio claimed.

On Saturday, Baio’s wife, Renee, tweeted a reply to Eggert in which she said her husband’s attorneys had sent the actress a cease-and-desist letter.
