“GMA” gets a first peek at the trailer to “Solo: A Star Wars Story”

Disney(NEW YORK) — While the teaser for the movie was one of the highlights of Sunday night’s Super Bowl ads, Monday’s Good Morning America gave fans their first look at the full trailer to Solo: A Star Wars Story

The clip shows a bit more of Alden Ehrenreich as a young Solo, Donald Glover as his frenemy, Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.

The longer look has the scruffy-looking future smuggler explaining, “I’ve been running scams on this street since I was 10.” He pilots a skimmer vehicle, sending it fishtailing into a police hoverbike, while Clarke’s character, Qi’ra [KEY-rah,] looks impressed.

As Han stares at a much-newer Millennium Falcon — which at one point in the movie is owned by Lando and apparently co-piloted by a droid — Harrelson’s scam-artist character, Becket, tells the young rogue, “Hey kid: I’m putting a crew together. You in?”

Chewbacca growls in response.  “That’s yes,” Han says.

The final sequence is a familiar one to Star Wars fans: the Falcon, shooting through space with Imperial TIEs in pursuit with Han and Chewie at the controls. Han flips the freighter around, smashing one of the baddies’ ships.

“I thought we were in trouble for a second there,” he tells Lando and Qi’ra…before they nearly crash into a space octopus.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters May 25, 2018 from Lucasfilm which, like ABC News, is owned by Disney.
