NYPD has “a lot of information” on Harvey Weinsten; reportedly ready to arrest

“We are still accumulating evidence, it’s going very very well,” said NYPD chief Robert Boyce, according to Variety. “We have a lot of information, we have people who are getting ready to go to grand jury.”

Meanwhile, the NYPD is “ready to go with an arrest,” a source within the department tells the Daily Beast, and are awaiting further instructions from Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance.

“I have been assured that the filing of criminal charges against Mr. Weinstein has not been authorized and his arrest is not imminent,” his lawyer Ben Brafman said in a statement to ABC News, adding that his client maintains his innocence.

The NYPD investigation stems from allegations made by actress Paz De la Huerta, who claimed that in 2010 Weinstein gave her a ride home to her New York City apartment where he insisted they have drinks, after which he allegedly forced himself on her. De La Huerta claims he did it again shortly thereafter.

The NYPD is reportedly investigating five separate sexual assault allegations against Weinstein, according to the Daily Beast, though he has denied all accusations of non-consensual sex.
