Mercury NashvilleThe world’s favorite Mexican drinking holiday isn’t until Saturday, but Maddie & Tae are getting a head start.

“I’m actually hanging out with some friends on Thursday, and we’re pre-Cinco deMayo-ing,” Maddie Marlowe explains. “And my mom got me one of those Ninjas, the blenders…they’re on sale at Kohl’s right now, so go getcha one!”

“I don’t like margaritas, but I do love virgin pina coladas,” Tae Dye confesses, while humming Rupert Holmes‘ ’70’s classic “Escape (The Pina Colada Song).”

Truth be told, Maddie & Tae plan to continue their Cinco de Mayo festivities right through their Saturday show in League City, Texas.

“We’re gonna make a giant batch of margaritas on the fourth, and then have more on the fifth, ’cause we’re gonna be on the road on the fifth,” Maddie says. “And my family’s gonna be there, so we’ll be livin’ it up…y’know, my mom will definitely be a couple ‘margs’ in during the show, because she’s fun.”

The CMA-winning duo just put out their new song, “Friends Don’t.” It’s their debut release for Mercury Nashville, and the first taste of their forthcoming sophomore album.
