"Safety concern" stops Rascal Flatts’ Thursday show in Indianapolis prior to the encore

ABC/Image Group LA Rascal Flatts was forced to end the Indianapolis-area stop on their Back to Us Tour before the encore on Thursday night, due to a safety issue.

“Last night a safety concern presented itself during the Rascal Flatts’ concert in Indianapolis,” the Hamilton Country Sheriff’s Office tells ABC Radio in a statement. “Venue staff and local officials followed standard protocols to ensure the safety of guests, the artist and staff. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the matter.”

Since the investigation remains ongoing, the Sheriff is not releasing any more specific info at this time. Rascal Flatts tweeted about what happened at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana as well.

“Due to a security concern at the show last night, standard procedures were quickly executed and everyone was able to safely leave the building,” the band said in their message. “The safety of our fans, band and crew is always the top priority for us, so we are so thankful for everyone who jumped into action and for your understanding. We will be back soon!”

The Back to Us trek is set to continue this weekend as usual, with Dan + Shay and Carly Pearce opening. Rascal Flatts plays Chicago, Illinois on Friday, before heading for Arcadia, Wisconsin on Saturday.
