"I’m excited for what the future holds": Hilary Scott previews what’s ahead as Lady A changes record labels

ABC/Randy HolmesPlenty of folks were shocked on Tuesday when news broke that Lady Antebellum has left their longtime label home, Capitol Nashville, to sign with Big Machine, the company that’s home to Taylor Swift and Thomas Rhett, among others.

But Hillary Scott tells ABC Radio that she, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood are already busy making their follow-up to 2017’s Heart Break.

“We’re working on new music,” Hillary says. “I know we’re writing and starting to record a little bit, and are really ready to dig deep. I feel like we’ve always dug really deep as a band, but the three of us I think are in a place that we’ve never been before.”

That new place has a lot to do with the new additions to the Lady A family.

“With Dave and Kelli adding a new baby to their family, and my twins, and Charles and Cassie and their son…” Hillary explains, “we just have a lot to say. We have a lot to dig into and write about.”

“I’m excited for what the future holds and am really looking forward to creatively kind of exploring deeper into what we can say.”

This week, Lady A plays Cincinnati, Ohio; Clarkston, Michigan; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as they continue their Summer Plays On Tour with Darius Rucker and Russell Dickerson.
