Vince Gill, Tom T. Hall and Dean Dillon nominated for all-genre Songwriters Hall of Fame

ABC/Image Group LA Country Music Hall of Famers Vince Gill and Tom T. Hall may be headed into the all-genre Songwriters Hall of Fame as well. They’re among this year’s nominees, along with Dean Dillon and John Prine.

Vince wrote the majority of his own hits, including classics like “Look at Us,” “I Still Believe in You,” and “Go Rest High on that Mountain,” along with many more. It’s worth noting that the Oklahoma native is nominated alongside one of his heroes, “Angel from Montgomery” composer John Prine.

In addition to his own classics like “I Love” and “(Old Dogs, Children and) Watermelon Wine,” Tom T. Hall also crafted tunes like “Harper Valley P.T.A.” and “Little Bitty” that were hits for Jeannie C. Riley and Alan Jackson, respectively.

Dean Dillon is forever linked with George Strait, having provided staples like “The Chair,” “Ocean Front Property,” and “Easy Come, Easy Go.”

Writers are eligible for the honor 20 years after the first commercial release of a song. Voting continues through December 17, with the 50th Annual Induction & Awards Gala set to take place on June 13 in New York City.
