We have a follow-up today (Tuesday) to a story we first brought to you on Monday morning about the owner of downtown Columbia’s Broadway Diner being unable to work due to being injured.

He issued an appeal to the public on Sunday to help him find cooks, saying they were desperately needed. Diner owner Dave Johnson had to close the diner again on Sunday, because he had no one to cook for customers.

Mr. Johnson tells 939 the Eagle that at least two people have reached out to him since then, saying he’s grateful and hopeful for two strong additions to his staff. Mr. Johnson emphasizes how grateful he is to be part of this community.
