Big Machine Label Group rallied their talent for a high-speed weekend (7/26-27) of Country music and racing in Indianapolis at the “Crown Royal Presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Big Machine Records.” Newcomers Drake White, A Thousand Horses, Lauren Jenkins and singer/songwriter Scotty Emerick warmed up the Brickfest Music Festival stage before headliner Brantley Gilbert brought more intensity to the riled-up fans at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway infield. During the closing set, Brantley brought labelmate Justin Moore out to perform the Top 10-and-rising “Small Town Throwdown,” eliciting an eruption from the crowd and likely those watching ESPN’s coverage at home.

Loyal fans then headed trackside for the drivers’ introductions and “America The Beautiful,” sung by banjo extraordinaire Ashley Campbell, who is the daughter of legendary singer Glenn Campbell. Drake subsequently performed a gritty, bluesy rendition of the National Anthem just before the green flag was waved. Jeff Gordon pulled his No. 24 car into Victory Lane, winning his fifth Brickyard 400 and scoring an additional honor from Big Machine – a hand selected Gibson Les Paul Standard trophy guitar featuring custom silver hi-gloss paint and several coats of silver, gold and purple metal flake over original Sam Bass artwork.

Marking Big Machine’s fourth consecutive year as a presenting sponsor, the unique atmosphere kicked off Saturday night following the Lilly Diabetes 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series Race with A Thousand Horses continuing the celebration. Unfortunately storms caused a delay and eventual cancelation of co-headliners The Band Perry and Justin Moore.

“The team and talent behind Big Machine never ceases to amaze me! I am so proud of our partnership with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and NASCAR. With loyal fans – both Country music and racing – we have created one of the most exciting and unique events,” said Scott Borchetta, BMLG President/CEO.
