Billy Currington has had quite a few dreams come true since he began his musical journey a number of years ago. One recent hope was that his current single, “We Are Tonight,” would go over really well live, and he says the song is going over better than he thought.
“‘We Are Tonight’ is going over so good live. It’s amazing. It’s everything I envisioned. When I heard the song, I was like, ‘Now there is an anthem for the live show.’ As I grew to know the song better and better, and of course when I finally recorded it, I just started envisioning everybody chanting the ‘We Are Tonight,’ and I was always hoping and praying that this was sure going to be a single,” says Billy. “People are singing it as loud as they can, probably louder than any song that I have right now. I don’t know if it’s just ‘cause it’s current and they’re hearing it a lot, but, boy, they’re singing it loud. So, the dream came true with the song ‘We Are Tonight.’”
“We Are Tonight” is poised to take over the top spot in the coming weeks.
He’s taking his songs – and his dreams – on the road. Next stop is Thursday (July 24th) in Noblesville, Indiana with Lady Antebellum.
