standoff ends in bunceton with one man shot

An armed stand-off in the Cooper County town of Bunceton ends with the suspect suffering a gunshot wound. The Cooper County sheriff says the 31-year old man holed up inside his house about noon yesterday when police came to talk with him about a stolen car in Boonville and a burglary in the county. The man exchanged gun fire with deputies.

After a more than five hour standoff, deputies say they heard a gunshot come from inside the home, and found the man seriously wounded. He was airlifted from the scene to University Hospital where he’s in critical condition.
