Will they end up using your tax dollars to finance a Jefferson City recreation center? One proposal includes putting 11 – (m) million in lodging tax revenues to fund the center. Parks and Rec Commissioner Brad Bates says the want a center that will still be relavent down the road.

A plan would see Jefferson City, the local schools, Lincoln – U and Special Olympics of Missouri sharing the cost of the rec center. But city officials are already questioning if that would be an appropriate use of the lodging tax.
