cole circuit judge race gets nasty

If you’re a Cole County voter you’ve probably seen the TV and direct mail ads against Circuit Judge Pat Joyce.  The incumbent Democrat has caught the attention of the Washington-based Republican State Leadership Committee which has channeled 200-thousand dollars to back her opponent, City Prosecutor Brian Stumpe. Half of that has gone for the attack ads which do not mention Stumpe by name, and he’s is quick to distance himself from that campaign.

On KWOS Open Air, Stumpe says the outside money his campaign has received has not gone to negative advertising. Cole County Courts are high on the political radar because of their jurisdiction in the State Capital.
