Macy Martin Goes Home to Support A Friend

For an artist on a rapid ascent, it’s easy to forget where you come from. Not the case for Kent Wells Productions artist Macy Martin, who is heading back to her College Station Texas hometown at the request of friend Caleb Benner on Sunday, October 5 in support of Benner’s Buddy Walk, hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley. The event, which will take place at the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater, includes the one-mile Buddy Walk to raise money and awareness for Down syndrome, a silent auction, raffle and live entertainment.

With the walk quickly approaching, 13-year-old Benner is still $535 short of his $1500 goal – something Martin is set on changing.

“I’d love to see Caleb far exceed his goal,” said Martin. “The Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley does such wonderful things for its members – everything from community awareness and education to shining light on the wonderful contributions of those with Down syndrome. The money will go to a very worthy cause.”

Martin, who recently completed a summer radio tour for single “You With Me”, will also be donating to the cause on behalf of her non-profit, Macy’s Toy Box, which provides new and gently used toys for underprivileged children during the holidays.
