storms blow through mid – missouri

Storms sirens wailed throughout the afternoon and early evening all across mid Missouri Wednesday. The clouds and light show were impressive, but there are few reports of damage or power outages from the several lines of storms that passed through the area. The heaviest damage appears to be just north of Sedalia…where Highway 65 was closed for several hours overnight so power crews could put lines back up over the highway. Emergency officials also report several trees down and out buildings damaged in Sedalia and northern Pettis County is the first wave of storms which passed through the area about 4 oh-clock yesterday afternoon. More storms with heavy rain are predicted for later today.
