mayor tergin takes the reins

Jefferson City officially has a new Mayor. Carrie Turgin took the oath of office at Monday night’s city council meeting. Turgin won election on
April 7th over five other challengers. Five city councilmen were elected that night as well. Turgin says the city has a bright future. Her first
official act was to put a sign on the Mayor’s office door which reads The people’s office. Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid presented the Council
with a $103 – thousand dollar check from the city’s contribution to the fund for the Columbia Regional Airport, which was used to bring in American Airlines.
