Rascal Flatts Grateful To Be Nominated Again

Rascal Flatts is no stranger to winning awards, but admittedly, over the last few years, they’ve been disappointed to be left out of the nominations. “A few years ago I even stopped wakin’ up lookin’ at the nominations because it had just become so normal for us to not be in there anymore,” says Jay DeMarcus.

When they got the news that they’d been nominated this year for the ACM Awards Vocal Group of the Year, Gary LeVox says, “It felt so good to be nominated again. Not that we went anywhere, we’ve been hoppin’ like we have every year, but you miss what you don’t have. We were just so humbled and honored and we were just filled with joy.”

While they never took nominations for granted, Rascal Flatts, whose single “Riot” is currently climbing the charts, admits it was easy to get used to being nominated every year. But Gary says, “It just goes to show that you miss what you don’t have and we are truly honored and humbled and on cloud nine over the nominations.”

The 50th ACM Awards will be broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 19th on CBS.
