(LOS ANGELES) — There’s at least one person who definitely won’t be congratulating James Franco on his Golden Globes win.
In a series of cryptic tweets that have now been deleted, The Breakfast Club actress Ally Sheedy questioned why Franco was being celebrated at a ceremony where women’s rights were being championed.
“Why is a man hosting? Why is James Franco allowed in? Said too much. Nite love ya #goldenglobes,” she tweeted.
Then she wrote, “Ok wait. Bye. Christian Slater and James Franco at a table on @goldenglobes #MeToo.”
After Franco won Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for The Disaster Artist, Sheedy tweeted, “James Franco just won. Please never ever ask me why I left the film/tv business.”
She did not elaborate on her experience with Franco further, but in 2014, Franco directed Sheedy in an off-Broadway production of The Long Shrift.
Last night’s Golden Globes featured stars wearing black in solidarity with the #MeToo movement and Time’s Up initiative to end sexual harassment.
