‘SNL’s’ Leslie Jones returning as Olympic commentator

Kailey Fellows/NBC(NEW YORK) — Leslie Jones is heading to the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang [pyuhng-chahng], South Korea — not as an athlete, but as a commentator, according to Deadline.

The Saturday Night Live funny lady’s enthusiastic tweets while watching the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil first caught the attention of NBC execs, who hired her on the spot.

At the start of the 2016 summer games, Jones tweeted a video of herself draped in the American flag with plastic gold medals, while cheering on Team USA.

The 50-year-old comedian has already begun tweeting on the PyeongChang Olympics with a shot of herself “training” in full Team USA garb captioned, “SLAY ALL DAY!!”

NBC’s live primetime coverage of the Winter Olympics begins February 8.
