“Black Panther” reigns supreme again with $108 million weekend

Marvel Studios(LOS ANGELES) — Marvel Studio’s Black Panther continued its domination at the box office, raking in an estimated $108 million.

The film delivered the second-highest second weekend in history, overtaking 2015’s Jurassic World. Additionally, it’s the fourth film ever to earn over $100 million in its second weekend and also joins Jurassic World as the second-fastest film to cross the $400 million mark,

Overseas, Black Panther brought in an estimated $83.8 million, bringing its worldwide tally to more than $700 million. Marvel is owed by Disney, parent company of ABC News.

Game Night, the racy comedy starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, finished in second place with an estimated $16.6 million haul.

The CGI animation-live action feature Peter Rabbit took third in its third week, earning an estimated $12.5 million, followed by the debut of the Natalie Portman-led sci-fi thriller Annihilation in fourth, with an estimated $11 million take.

Fifty Shades Freed rounded out the top five, earning $6.9 million.
