ABC/Image Group LA Tonight, Luke Bryan kicks off the XL Stadium Sized leg of his What Makes You Country Tour in Toronto. Sam Hunt, Jon Pardi, and Morgan Wallen will be joining him, along with some other pretty important folks: his road family.
The American Idol judge says he’s pretty proud of the close-knit group of people who keep things running behind-the-scenes.
“I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Luke tells ABC Radio. “I mean, my guys that are out on the road — my guys and girls that are out on the road with me — we become a family.”
“You have to work together, to deal with the ups and downs and the struggles of being out there working hard on the road…” he explains. “So yeah, with our tour, you know, that happens naturally.”
If you wonder what it’s like to have Luke as a a boss, the “Most People Are Good” hitmaker sounds every bit as terrific as you might expect.
“We’ve always worked really hard to create a good, fun environment where everybody’s rooting for each other out there,” he says. “I mean, it’s a grind out there. But when we roll into these stadiums and see all the fans roll in, and knowing that all my people that work with me and for me helped put this on is a pretty humbling experience.”
Luke’s tour continues Saturday night at Met Life Stadium in New York City. In all, Luke will play 13 stadiums before the trek wraps in Detroit at the end of October.
