What’s next for FGL? Tyler Hubbard previews the duo’s new album

ABC/Image Group LA Now that Florida Georgia Line has been to the top of the charts with “Meant to Be,” their collaboration with pop star Bebe Rexha, the focus shifts to new music from their forthcoming fourth album.

In the past few months, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have been hard at work on the follow-up to Dig Your Roots. Quite a few things have changed for the duo since they released their latest album nearly two years ago — especially for Tyler: he and his wife Hayley welcomed their daughter Olivia last December.

“I think it’s pretty simple,” Tyler says. “I think with every album we do we just try to evolve as our life has, try to write the best songs that we possibly can and find the best songs that we possibly can between the last album and the current album, and just record the best songs that we can find and songs that we connect with and songs that we think our fans will.”

Tyler believes the new album is particularly strong, because of the writing.

“We’ve been able to write so much, on and off the road this time,” he explains. “So I think we both feel more confident in this album than any previous album. And I think you should feel that way about every record or you’re not doing your job right.”

So far, we don’t know the timeline for the release of FGL’s new record. The duo’s is currently climbing the chart with “Up Down,” their hit with newcomer Morgan Wallen.
