The St. Louis Cardinals have fired manager Mike Matheny. Matheny, a former catcher with the organization, has been the manager for more than six seasons. His record was 591-473. Hitting coach John Mabry and assistant hitting coach Bill Mueller were also let go. Bench coach Mike Shildt will serve as interim manager.
