Florida Georgia Line & Bebe Rexha set an all-time record on the "Billboard" country chart

ABC/Kelsey McNealThe success of Florida Georgia Line‘s collaboration with Bebe Rexha‘s was “Meant to Be.”

The song has now been #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for 35 weeks. That’s an all-time record: No other song in the chart’s 60-year history has spent more weeks at #1.  The previous record-holder was “Body Like a Back Road” by Sam Hunt, which ruled for 34 weeks in 2017.

“I’m so honored to be a writer and an artist on this song,” FGL’s Tyler Hubbard tells Billboard. “I’m thankful to just be one of the many people who put so much energy and effort into making music history.”

“The power of music continues to blow our minds,” his musical partner Brian Kelley adds, “and we are extremely humbled and thankful that ‘Meant’ has spent the better part of a year at the top.”

“The connection we feel with our fans through our music is extra special with this song,” BK continues. “Bebe and her camp were a blast to work with.”

At the same time, Tyler’s already thinking about what’s to come.

“Now, it’s time to get back in the studio and try to break the new record,” Tyler says.

FGL’s lead single from their next album, “Simple,” is well on its way. It’s currently at #4 on this week’s chart.
