Luke Bryan hits a home run at Dodger Stadium this weekend

ABC/Paula LoboLuke Bryan not only became the first country artist ever to play Dodger Stadium this weekend, but he also managed to make the Los Angeles show a sell-out.

“Stadiums are a lot of work,” the Georgia native told Billboard before the Saturday concert. “You’ve gotta try to make 50,000 people feel like [they’re in] an intimate setting and an intimate environment.”

“When you’re playing a 15,000-seat amphitheater,” he explained, “everybody’s right in front of you. When I get done with a stadium, I feel like I ran a marathon. There’s no just getting up there and nonchalantly making a stadium show happen. You gotta work hard at it.”

The L.A. show is the eighth of thirteen stadium dates on the What Makes You Country Tour this summer.

This week, Luke plays Rogers, Arkansas and Omaha, Nebraska, before taking the stage at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado on Saturday.
