Jon Pardi is focused on "monster hits" as he prepares to work the "Night Shift" with Dierks Bentley

ABC/Mark LevineNext week, Jon Pardi reunites with his 2017 tour mate, Dierks Bentley, to kick off the Burning Man Tour in Canada.

The “Dirt on My Boots” hitmaker spent most of 2018, however, working with Luke Bryan on his What Makes You Country Tour — including thirteen stadium dates.

“We had a good time, you know,” Jon says of his time with the American Idol judge. “We had a lot of bus hangs after the shows, and it was just a lot of fun.”

“And Luke puts on a hell of a show, and I thought we threw down pretty good,” he adds. “And the first time playing the big football arenas, that was really fun… It was just a very fun year, and a year I’ll never forget.”

But when asked if he’s fired up to play more stadiums, Jon says he’d rather just keep his eyes on the music.

“It should light a fire under anybody, you know. But I just really focus on the songs,” he explains. “Luke had some monster songs that got him to there, and you can’t get there without monster jams.”

“So you’ve got to focus on the monster songs,” Jon tells ABC Radio. “So yeah, goals, you’ve gotta have goals!”

Jon’s latest “monster song” is “Night Shift,” which is currently climbing country’s top 20.
