Court documents say Centralia man charged with child enticement used Y99 app

Court documents say additional charges will be pending against a Centralia man already charged with child enticement. It’s unclear if those will be federal or state charges.

26-year-old Tanner Donald Ray Burton is charged in Boone County Circuit Court with two counts of enticement or attempted enticement of a child.

Burton is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon at 1. 939 the Eagle News was in the courtroom for last Friday’s initial arraignment for Burton, who told Judge Kevin Crane that he could not afford an attorney and would apply for a public defender.

Court documents allege Burton thought he was talking to juveniles on the Y99 app.  The Centralia Police Department’s probable cause statement quotes Burton as telling investigators that he had pornographic photos on his computer from people he believed were juveniles. The statement also quotes him as telling Centralia Police that he sent pornographic photos to people he believed were juveniles.
