UPDATE: Columbia murder suspect to be arraigned at 1

A Columbia man charged with Sunday’s shooting death of a three-year-old child will be arraigned this afternoon at the Boone County Courthouse.

Boone County prosecutor Roger Johnson has charged 28-year-old Larry Brownlee Jr. with second degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Brownlee’s initial appearance is set for 1 pm, before Judge Stephanie Morrell. He’ll be arraigned via video from the Boone County jail. He’s jailed without bond.

Columbia Police say the three-year-old was shot in the torso Sunday afternoon, and later died at an area hospital.
