A well-known mid-Missouri grocery chain that’s been in operation for more than 41 years is selling.

Our news partner KMIZ reports Moser’s Foods is selling to Holts Summit-based PFSbrands, which produces the Champs Chicken sold at Moser’s. KMIZ quotes Moser’s officials as saying all of their dedicated employees will be able to become employee-owners at PFSbrands and will have the opportunity to maintain their current positions. Moser’s has eight mid-Missouri locations, including three in Columbia.

It’s been owned by Roger and Jeanie Moser, who live in Fulton. The grocery chain was founded in 1982.

Moser’s is best-known for its meat selection, describing it as “a cut above the rest.” Moser’s just opened a new 30,000 square foot store near Columbia’s Scott Boulevard in May 2022. It’s located on Faurot drive in Westbury Village.
