The Mizzou men’s team has won four straight as it prepares for this afternoon’s Hy-Vee Hoops border showdown against #2 Kansas at historic Allen fieldhouse in Lawrence. That’s one of the loudest venues in college basketball.

Dennis Gates’ Missouri squad is 7-2, coming off an 82-72 Sunday win at home against Wichita State. Tiger guard Sean East has had two straight 20-point games and averages 17 points a game. Noah Carter is second in scoring at Mizzou, averaging 13 points a game. Mizzou averages 75 points a game.

Mizzou is aiming for its first win at a top-two Kansas team in 33 years.

Bill Self’s Jayhawks are 8-1, and they’ve won nine of the last ten matchups with Missouri. They’re led by star center Hunter Dickinson, who averages 20 points a game. He’s also second in the nation in rebounds per game with 12. Jayhawk guard Dajuan Harris leads the team in assists with 65. Harris, who led Columbia Rock Bridge to Missouri’s class 5 state championship title in 2018-2019, leads the Big 12 in assists per game with 7. Harris is Rock Bridge’s all-time career leader in assists.

Historic Allen Fieldhouse, which opened in 1955, is named for former KU coach F.C. “Phog” Allen. The Jayhawks are 150-6 in the Bill Self era at Allen Fieldhouse against non-conference opponents.

Tipoff is set for 4:15 this afternoon on the Central Bank Tiger Radio Network from Learfield. You can hear the broadcast on Zimmer Tiger Network affiliates KCMQ (FM 96.7) and KTGR (FM 100.5).
