A Columbia man accused of shooting and killing a pregnant woman last summer and whose parole has been revoked will appear in Boone County Circuit Court this morning for a hearing.
Boone County prosecutors have charged 32-year-old Sevance Brewer with one count of first degree murder, one count of second degree murder and two other felonies. Boone County Circuit Judge Brouck Jacobs has ordered Brewer to appear in court at 10:25 this morning.
Graphic court documents allege that Brewer, who was on parole at the time in August, shot and killed the pregnant woman on Clearview road, in front of two small children. The Columbia Police Department’s probable cause statement says the 27-year-old victim was four months pregnant when she was shot in the head and killed, during an argument. Authorities have said they believe this was a case of domestic violence.
CPD’s probable cause statement also says Sevance led CPD investigators to the murder weapon, which was hidden under a rock in a creek bed at Columbia’s Again street park.
Missouri’s Probation and Parole Board revoked Sevance’s parole after the murder, and he’s currently incarcerated at the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center (FRDC).
