A Columbia man was arrested this week for a rape that police say occurred 23 years ago. The victim told police she was assaulted at a party after a night of drinking. A rape test kit used at University Hospital has since matched a DNA profile of 53-year-old Lonny Caldwell of Columbia, who was present at the party. Boone County deputies took Caldwell into custody on Wednesday.
