Commissioners say they will implement state’s property tax freeze

Boone County plans to adopt legislation that comes from Jefferson City in the next few weeks that would grant senior citizens the ability to get a freeze on property tax increases for their primary residences. Voters approved Proposal 1 asking for the tax relief on April 2. County commissioners held a public hearing on Thursday. CoMoBUZ.com reports that commissioners told citizens at the public hearing they intend to implement the tax freeze in Boone County with language from legislation passed by the general assembly.
